Polycarbonate plastic will soon get stricter assessments in SundaHus
Since the monomer bisphenol A, which is used to manufacture polycarbonate plastic, is now classified as an SVHC substance (classified as toxic to reproduction), products with significant amounts of polycarbonate plastic are soon going to get a "C +" - assessment in SundaHus Material Data. This change is expected to occur within the next 1-3 months. Polycarbonate is used as a cover for products such as light fittings, sockets and switches. Currently there are no opportunities for suppliers to submit a certificate to obtain a B-assessment for polycarbonate plastic products (such as is possible for the ABS plastic), but we have begun to explore the possibilities of further developing our criterion for polycarbonate plastic.
